    It is possible that the child on the left is a boy……in those times little boys often wore dresses until they were about seven or eight.

    was the photography process already so fast in 1890 that these kids are so sharp? I thought you had to stand still for ages at that time to get a sharp picture? or are they crying because they are glued to the ground ;-)

    Not sure about the sexes of these kids, but they look very poor, possibly an orphanage is the location.

    Photo’s show many things. They are really sad and young. They are not skinny, but look tierd as if they are saying, " I am tierd of Walking. " They are dressed nice and many Little Boys in those days wore dresses. I am pretty sure these Sweet Little Children are tierd and want to rest and eat. I wish I could Pick them up and help them. Give them a Big Hug. Hope their day got better.

    You are right, granniscreek1, they are very likely to be little boys. Boys were dresses until they were 5 or 6.

    It would be Great if this Provider could tell us a little about this Sad Photo. There might be a story and I hope and pray they are not homeless Orphans. Many Little Children suffered in the olden days. The Orphan Train was a Sad story. Please Provide a Story to this Photo. Thank you.
